Last Reviewed: June 16, 2025
Polk County is committed to ensuring that its website is accessible to all users, including individuals with disabilities. We actively work to make our digital content inclusive and usable by the widest possible audience, regardless of technology or ability.
Standards
Our website aims to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA, which are internationally recognized standards for web accessibility developed by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C).
Ongoing Efforts
We are continuously reviewing our website and content to identify and fix accessibility issues. As part of this process, we are working with our website developers, staff, and content managers to improve usability and ensure compliance with applicable laws, including the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and Section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act.
Known Accessibility Issues
Some older documents, particularly PDFs published before 2024, may not be fully accessible to users of screen readers or other assistive technologies. We are in the process of reviewing and updating these files to improve accessibility. If you need access to a specific document that is not accessible, please contact us and we will provide the requested information in an alternative format.
Feedback and Assistance
If you experience difficulty accessing any part of our website, encounter a barrier, or need an alternative format of content, please contact us. We will respond promptly and work with you to provide the information or service in a manner that meets your needs.
